main sources & work of kesharwanis was to produce keshar & it was their
business. The business was spread all over the countries like China,Afghan,Egypt,Tibet
, Unan & etc. "VANI" is a persian word which means "Goods Seller". The
main homeland of keshawanis was north of India ,Kashmir. The caste get
famous due to their existence on the bank of river "Vasisht" which was
lateron known as "Shelam River". The King of Kashmir Harshadev & Jaisingh
around the 200 years ago ,The kesharis were very much famous from that
period.

During the war between King Jaisingh & Mohammed Nami Gajnabi in the Kashmir territorial areas `Shivpur` , The kesharis were decided to leave the area & departed in Mid night for Delhi ,But unfortunately ,due to near area of Punjab the Pathans fear was always in their minds & for that they once again left the Delhi And moved towards EAST. During that period the King of Delhi was "PrithviRaj Chauhan" . The Kesharwanis was in great agonies and grief with hundred of their members moved to Prayag(Allahabad). Near the bank of Ganges. Thereafter they managed to have their business & for peace they spread & visited no. of towns e.g Varansi , Mirzapur , Fathepur , Kanpur, Lucknow,Gorakhpur,Mirganj,Yusufpur,Itawah,Faizabad,Satna,Barely,Balliya,Rewa(M.P), Patna,Bengal,Jabalpur,Sagar & etc. The total no. of current kesharwanis family worldwide is approximetly 70,000. This number came from the 100 families.
